So I am in my final course at DeVry University and the class chosen is Digital Marketing Fundamentals, and I have to write and PUBLISH a blog - yikes. I literally talk to much - imagine me having to write these thoughts on paper and think people actually care to read them? I'm ready

Honestly a whole lot of unnecessary information to you but imperative to me. You can read it and comment on it for my courses purposes - however there is just a bunch of sarcastic comments, some life journey situations and me trying to understand what I am doing along the way. Enjoy!

Events, Planning, and Wine Tasting

It's Friday, right -  #TGIF and all that. It is however, a little later than I expected to be "blogging," this week. Never thought I'd be thinking all week about what I was supposed to blog about while trying to seem interesting.....

A week wrap up: The Pacific Northwest is covered in smoke, I do not want to talk about politics, my 4 year old is a PRO at using our new washer and dryer set. Oh and one of my best friends chose a wine tasting on a Sunday for her birthday shenanigans and I won't be complaining - although I am trying to see if I can get her birthday drunk Saturday because, well..... millennial birthdays. Overall, work, eat, sleep, blog?, repeat....OH and I discovered Buti Yoga - yes that is B U T I - this week - look it up!

So this blog is for school, remember - that means enough about me. This week's assignment is to take the demographics of one of the followed websites (see previous blog posting if you have missed out and are wondering what you are doing with your life) So I chose Sasha Souza's event webpage.

She is an event planning gangster, I promise you. I asked for her books for Christmas presents, finally stalked her enough to get her to follow me on Instagram, and wrote enough course projects on her work that we should pretty much be friends. *wink emoji - I am not sure how to do that from a computer, on a blog, for which I have not seen a video tutorial on. But I do know how to add a link, see........  ⤥

Oh and here's a blog emoji - 😼   *high five fans*

Anyway, back to this Digital Media Marketing Stuff ------

A little on Sasha Souza herself and her designs team: I can't make out if this is her mission statement but I'll take it:

The Sasha Souza Events Experience

"The Sasha Souza Events guest experience encompasses many different adjectives: fun, energetic, moving, classic, romantic, intimate, thoughtful, and colorful. Our vendors would tell you that as event planners, we are incredibly detail-oriented, hard-working, honest and reliable and we are the best event planners that they work with because our events are bar-none. Our clients would tell you that their wedding or event reflected 100% who they are and their style.  This is because, from the beginning of the event design process, we want to know who you are. What you desire. What speaks to your brand and personality, because our events are designed only with you in mind. That's why we start with a lengthy event design questionnaire so we can find out who you are and design the event around what means most to you"

This class is supposed to open our advertising intuition and bring us to find our media marketing gurus and roll with them. :P So the assigned details begin below:

Sasha Souza has created an amazing platform of followers and customers. Because her customer service is flawless, her creativity is executed effectively and every event she is a part of has recognition. She has a larger social media platform and increases demographics daily. Overall her strategies are having a service based business model and has worked for her for years. She also writes books on her progress and business and based off of those has developed a teacher training program that I happen to be interested in as well.

A subscription based business model would be a great addition to the current model used. She can actually have subscribers that pay to use her detailed teaching services and overall would gain an ample amount of revenue from that as well.  But never would I ever unless assigned by my Professor tell Sasha Souza what I think she should do.

Some Tips for increasing advertising worth:

  • Drive traffic to your website
  • Provide ready-made content for your next email newsletter
  • Serve as great marketing material for future events
  • Inspire non-attendees to come next to the next one
Bingo.

In early internet firms, those who were the marketers and the producers were ahead of their time when producing their webpages and interactions. People weren’t into the internet marketing age until the last decade and the social media boom is pertinent to the last 5 years. Who would have thought?

Overall, she utilizes prior guest experiences, repeat customers, her platform of followers and sales tactics and is on these listed social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and EVEN Pinterest. No suggestions there - we are literally,  basically the same.  You go Sasha, you go.

In Conclusion, oh hell no -  (on repeat in my head right now) "this is not a college paper Josi, this is a blog, so be cool."
